A new chapter for my kitchen, and my heart.
This past January, I said goodbye to my grandmother.
Not long before, her sister passed away at the incredible age of 100. These two women were cornerstones of our family, with hearts as warm as the kitchens they spent so much of their time in. They taught me so much, not just about cooking, but about how food can hold memories, love, and legacy.
After they passed, something unexpected and beautiful happened: I inherited a treasure trove of family recipes.
Handwritten notes, worn cards smudged with flour and love, and meal ideas that have been passed down from my great-grandmother’s table to ours. Some were familiar, beloved dishes from holidays and Sunday suppers. Others were new to me, rich with history and stories I can’t wait to uncover.
If you know me, you know I’m a sentimental soul. These recipes are more than ingredients and instructions, they’re heirlooms. They’re pieces of the women who came before me, and they deserve a place at the table again.
So today, I’m opening up a new branch of my blog called The Heirloom Table.
It’s a space to share those cherished recipes, simple, soulful meals from the past that still have a place in our present. Some are cozy and nostalgic. Some might surprise you. All of them come with stories and heart.
Here’s what you can expect from The Heirloom Table:
- Family recipes passed down through the generations (complete with free printables so you can keep them too)
- Handwritten recipe cards and memory notes
- Simple, seasonal meals made with love
- Hosting ideas that make the ordinary feel a little more special
- Encouragement to preserve your own family’s kitchen legacy
If you’re looking to recreate a dish that reminds you of someone you love, or you’re hoping to start new traditions in your own home, this is for you.
There’s something deeply comforting about stirring a pot the way your grandmother did. About pulling a cake from the oven that smells just like childhood. About setting a table that says, you belong here.
I’m so grateful to have these recipes, and I’m even more grateful to get to share them with you. Welcome to The Heirloom Table.
Let’s honor the past, gather in the present, and pass it all on with love.
With warmth, Miranda
