French toast is a brunch favorite, but this baked version takes it up a notch. It’s easy to prepare the night before, allowing you to enjoy a laid back morning. This casserole is warm, comforting, and perfect for serving a crowd.

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions:

  1. Cube the bread and place it in a greased baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.

  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Serve warm with maple syrup.

2. Spinach and Feta Quiche

Quiche is a classic brunch dish that’s easy to customize. This spinach and feta version is light yet satisfying. It can be served warm or at room temperature, making it perfect for a relaxed brunch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the spinach in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Place the spinach and feta in the pie crust, then pour the egg mixture over the top.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until set and lightly browned. Let cool slightly before slicing.

3. Fruit Salad with Honey-Lime Dressing

A fresh fruit salad is the perfect side to complement your brunch. This version uses seasonal fruits like strawberries, blueberries, and citrus, drizzled with a light honey-lime dressing for extra flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 2 cups cubed watermelon
  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions:

  1. Combine all the fruit in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and lime juice.
  3. Drizzle the dressing over the fruit and toss gently to coat. Serve chilled.

4. Deviled Eggs with a Twist

Deviled eggs are a must have at any Easter brunch. This simple recipe with a touch of mustard and smoked paprika adds an extra flavor boost. They’re easy to make and perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • Smoked paprika for garnish

Instructions:

  2. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, and vinegar until smooth.
  3. Spoon the mixture back into the egg whites and sprinkle with smoked paprika. Serve chilled.

5. Kid-Friendly Strawberry Lemonade

A refreshing drink that kids will love! This strawberry lemonade is both sweet and tart, making it the perfect addition to your Easter brunch. It’s simple to make and a fun, colorful way to keep the little ones hydrated.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 3 tbsp honey or sugar (to taste)
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine the strawberries, lemon juice, and honey (or sugar). Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the pulp.
  3. Add the cold water and stir to combine. Serve over ice with extra strawberry slices for garnish.

6. Sparkling Apple Cider Punch

For a bubbly, kid-friendly drink that feels special, try this sparkling apple cider punch. It’s light, refreshing, and perfect for serving alongside your brunch spread.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sparkling apple cider
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1-2 cups lemon-lime soda or ginger ale
  • Sliced oranges, lemons, and apples for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the sparkling apple cider and orange juice.
  2. Add the lemon-lime soda or ginger ale for a fizzy finish.
  3. Stir and garnish with slices of citrus fruits and apples. Serve chilled.

7. Freshly Brewed Coffee & Mimosas

A good cup of coffee is always a brunch staple. Set up a coffee station with a variety of syrups and creamers so your guests can customize their drinks. For those who want a bit of bubbly, offer mimosas with fresh orange juice and champagne (or sparkling water for a non-alcoholic version).

Tip: For a fun twist, you can create a DIY mimosa bar where guests can mix their own juices and choose between champagne, sparkling water, or soda for the base.

Enjoy your Easter brunch, and cheers to good food and great company!

A lovely place to begin. 🤎 Welcome to A Lovely So A lovely place to begin. 🤎

Welcome to A Lovely Sort of Life.

I’ve thought a lot about what I wanted the very first post here to be, and I kept coming back to this.

I don’t think a lovely life is necessarily made up of big, extraordinary moments. I think, more often, it’s found in the little things we could so easily rush past.

Coffee brewing while the house wakes up. Something warm in the oven. Taking the long way home just because the evening is beautiful. Setting the table on an ordinary Tuesday. Making a little more of the life we’re already living.

And that’s really what I hope this little corner of the internet becomes.

So it feels fitting to begin with The Lovely List, ten small invitations for the month ahead.

It isn’t a checklist. It isn’t ten more things you need to accomplish. It’s simply a collection of little reminders to notice, enjoy, make, gather, celebrate, and occasionally romanticize the ordinary.

And October feels like a particularly lovely place to start. 🍂

Here’s to candlelit mornings, something delicious in the oven, pumpkins on porches, cozy nights at home, and noticing this beautiful little season before it slips away.

Welcome to A Lovely Sort of Life. I’m so glad you’re here. 🤎

Save this list for October, and tell me, what’s one little thing that makes life feel especially lovely to you this time of year?
